Travel and Birding Reports

Welcome to our website!

NEW: Our latest trip to Jamaica in March 2014

On this website we are publishing a number of our travel and birding reports, which we have written over the last decade (under construction)

Our travel blogs/photoalbums have been written in Dutch because these were meant for our families and friends at home. Occasionally we will also post some photo albums of (walking) trips made in The Netherlands and abroad.

We will also include an extensive description of the former Yuturi lodge in the Rio Napo area. In this excellent rainforest we have made a significant number of birding trips resulting in more than 500 observed birdspecies in an area of approximately 5x5  km. This information included on our website was also prepared as a small booklet, which could be used by visitors of the area in the past. Unfortunately, more recent information shows that the lodge is now closed. In addition, the area is under heavy pressure by oil production in this part of Eastern Ecuador. Inevitably, this will certainly lead to a significant reduction in birdspecies due to the associated disturbances and habit destruction that is normally associated with the oil industry

Furthermore, we are going to include a large number of birdwatching trips from all over the world. These reports have been made via the excellent database system (Wildlife Recorder) of Wildlife Computing. It should be kept in mind that not all reports will provide detailed site descriptions.
